Personal Training FAQ

Do you have questions about personal training? Are you looking for more information about what a personal trainer can do for you before you sign up for a free session? We understand! Starting a fitness training program is a big commitment in many ways, and you should have all the information before you get started on your journey to a new you.

How Much Weight Can I Lose per Week with Fitness Training?

The amount of weight you lose is dependent on several factors, including the following:

  • your weight when you start (heavier people tend to lose more)
  • your body type
  • how often you train
  • the type of exercises you perform
  • your diet
  • other factors

Everyone is different and has different needs, and that is why having a personal trainer is so important to help you reach your goals.

How Does Weight Loss Work?

Weight loss goals are measured in calories, which are units of energy. One pound of fat equals 3500 calories. In other words, you must either burn 3500 calories, eliminate 3500 calories from your diet, or some combination of both to lose 1 pound.

3500 calories = 1 pound fat

The number of calories you burn during each minute of exercise is dependant on the factors listed above. The personal trainers at Personal Trainer Houston can determine the best fitness training program for you to maximize your weight loss potential.

You don't want to burn your wheels doing exercises that won't help you reach your goals. Let our personal trainers guide you to weight loss success.

Are all of your Personal Trainers Certified?

Certification is a requirement for all personal trainers at Personal Trainer Houston and Uptown Fitness. However, you should not choose your trainer based solely on certifications. Many organizations certify personal trainers, and while certification is helpful, it is not always the most meaningful indicator of a good personal trainer. The best indicator of whether a fitness trainer is right for you is how comfortable you feel with him or her and how well he or she motivates you to succeed with your fitness goals.

How often do I need to Work Out with my Personal Trainer?

To lose weight or gain muscle, you should fitness train with your personal trainer at least an hour a day, three days per week. The more you train, the more weight you will lose and the stronger you will become. However, even adding one or two days of training is better than none.

The number of sports training and rehab training sessions may differ. Consult your personal trainer to determine the best program for you.

How Much Does Personal Training Cost?

The cost of personal training varies depending on the experience level of the trainer and how often you train. Call 713-621-4800 for more information on personal training options.
